After the show… (continued)

November 18, 2005 – 5:07 pm

Once the show was really over, Ted and I made our way out of that shady neighborhood grabbed ourselves a cab. We went to this little diner where his girl friend (Wako) was at with some friends. And then, Pancakes!. We stayed up until about 4AM and lucky enough were able to sleep in to about 11AM. The next day we went downtown and I was lucky enough to snag a sweet sweet Del the Funky Homosapien CD on the cheap. After that we went to Japan Town. I wondered my way through the isles of this one supermarket wondering what was really inside all of the packages written in Japanese and stared for a good 10 minutes at all of the different kinds of Sake.

We left the city at about 5PM and hit some bad traffic around 30 minutes later. It didn’t slow us up to much as we got home at about 8:30. Lucky for me it was enough time to get a good 2 hour nap in before working the night shift. There was one surprise waiting for me at work though. At the beginning of my shift the surprise of working a double shift (15 hours) was marked on the schedule. Kevin, my co-worker, pointed it out to me and I’m glad I noticed it around 12:30AM instead of 8:00AM (the true end of the night shift). Luckily the call volume was low. By around 10 or 11AM my mind was in pretty bad shape and drawings on my note pad started to get a little whacky. Jim K., another co-worker, was there working on a tape drive project and his presence helped me keep my composure. By about 12:30 / 1PM some minor hallucination may have began to set in. Lucky for me, I was able to get Kevin to start his shift at 1:30PM instead of 3:00PM.

It was a pretty bad shift, but if I could get to another Coup show and pay the same price, I would do it again in a second.
