Adios Tower

The local Tower Records is closing. Even though it’s a chain, it still feels local. My viable options for purchasing used music locally just dropped from two to one location. Shitty. Yesterday I scored some 20% discounted goodies. That’s 20% off good prices, not 20% off some of the crazy prices that definitely exist for some things in there. Those good prices were all short run gains though. Wal-mart and the rest of the big box stores all get the finger (in regard to music sales. actually wal-mart get dos fingers for their whole operation). They don’t care one bit about the local scene, just their bottom line. At least Tower Records and The Underground (another local store) feature local artists. Remember, if you cant find a decent price locally, check out Half.com or Amazon.com’s Marketplace.
